Don't Mess with the Mesh

Posted: Jul 24 2014

One of the trends we're seeing over and over again from designers is the appearance of mesh. Mesh, a fabric constructed through an interlaced structure of thread, has given designers an edge to their looks and a unique texture to their style.
This trend has been on the rise during the course of this past year, and A-List celebrities were quick to pick it up! Here are some of our favorite mesh looks:

We love the contrast this dress provides. The simple shape, clean white color, and symmetric lines compliment Blake Lively’s feminine and classic style. And, the two identical mesh cutouts provide a bit of edge and danger to the dress.

We cannot get over how cool singer Rihanna looks in this mesh-on-mesh ensemble. This mesh overlay piece finds itself at the intersection of 1880’s pointillism and 1980’s inspired basketball jerseys. We also love the contrast and definition created through the underlay of a few stark white lines. To top it all off, Rihanna completed her sportswear-inspired look with a pair of statement sunglasses.

Model Constance Jabolonski paired an embellished sweater on top with a subtle mesh skirt. She played with different textures, patterns, and shades of black, creating an illusion of lightness which contrast with the dark colors.

We don’t see the mesh trend ending anytime soon! Browse our assortment of mesh items:
